I have a little friend whose name is Iggy
He is green and somewhat frilly
Fits in the palm of one hand
Until he grows up and becomes a man
Scaley with his beady eyes gleaming
Wondering whether the scrub is teaming
Full of delicious insectizoid delights
Some worms, small lizards sure to entice
Basking in the sun in all his glory
Watching me silently as I read him a story
As he sluggishly moves to his tree stump
I wonder if at all he notices that speed hump
Oh no! Dear Iggy please watch out
You do not want to be flattened by a car on route
Well done Iggy you must have nine lives
For this dear iguana survives
There are many of you who are out there
Who'd like to see poor Iggy flattened beyond repair
But give thought to those who adore iguanas like him
Who would do anything on a whim
One day Iggy will grow up to be strong
Probably more than a metre long
Depending on species, climate and class
This girl better stop writing before she gets a kick up the...

Such a sweet little iggy
who loves his mum
Never thought to be immortalised
In a nice poem
Poor little carie
She needs her chums
to help keep her all her iggies
and to save them from
those other nasty beasties
who'd eat them up, yum yum

Was also going to do a line ending in bum, but it just doesn't work in US English!
