Turning

Is there any way to stop the world from turning?
Is there any way to change the path we're on?
Is there any way to stop a forest burning?
Any longer and I fear we'll all be gone.

So many men with their rockets full of danger,
Each a phallus holding not new life but death.
A promise to an unsuspecting stranger,
That he is shortly going to draw his final breath.

And the little girl who sees her father marching,
Never knowing if he marches to his grave.
Am I the only one who thinks all life is precious?
And something we all should - and MUST - attempt to save?
