    BDSM ...paraphernalia...

    Hello,

I would like to thank everyone for all the threads that are here, very informative and interesting to say the least. We are hoping that some of the experienced poeple who submit to this lifestyle could give us some guidance as to a reliable site or particular type of bdsm paraphernalia (or even certain items to stay away from). The saying goes "you get what you pay for" but after looking at some of the items on various websites I think one needs to exercise some good judgement before putting out money for those items. Items we are looking into are similar probably to what many of you use, cuffs, paddles, floggers, restraints, etc. I hope I am in the right forum and any responsible recomendations would be appreciated...

    thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!

Not at all. With so many threads, it's not always easy to do a key word search and find what you're seeking. Happy shopping.

I love the word noob I want to get a shirt with n00b printed on it. *giggle*

For online shopping, I've found Stockroom to be quick and have had no probs with online payments and stuff. I guess the only other advice I can offer from personal experience is not to skimp on the cost of cuffs and restraints, because they can hurt if they aren't good quality and possibly do damage to circulation etc. Like you said, it's common sense and you get what you pay for.

Hmm, thats all I can think of at the moment
I'm just a silhouette of the person who walks in my dreams.

Most of us here are noobs, Drifter, and rely on the help of the several very experienced and helpful folk, like Ruby, who offer willing help.

I concur with albear about JT's Stockroom and offer the little I've learned:

I suggest not scrimping on your purchases as quality creates safety and comfort -- cuffs and collars, for example, are more comfortable and offer more security if they are substantial, and lined with a soft fabric that won't abrade. Such things are pricey but you will use them for a long time. (Hopefully! )

Adjustibility is also very desirable. Sizes change and, more important, subs have different threshholds. Of course, if you are talking about mere cosmetics, who cares?

Finally, I've found a number of good google information on making some of your own equipment, things like floggers and I found a spanking bench I will certainly put together.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello

I know i'm a newbie, but i still thought i'd share. I'm in the UK and so far the best shops I've been to in London are:

Shhh!: Great for womens toys If you go in and shop in person, they make you tea and coffee and give fantastic advice to beginners! Its the most un-sex-shop sex shop I've seen!
Regulation: For great fetish wear and excellent toys for naughty little slaves Their dildos are excellent. We have a Josef, and its a monster!
Quality Control My sub has been tied up for over 8 years and says they are without a doubt the best restraints he's ever had the pleasure to be tied up in! All their hardware is handmade, so very pricey, but its such good quality! Saw these guys at the London Fetish Fair and they are so brilliant.

Never tried to shop online with these guys, but I'm sure the service would be just as good as it is if you visit in person!

Just a quick second endorsement for Stockroom. We've gotten quite a few goodies from then and have always been pleased.

You might want to check out FetishAuctioneer.com as well. There are some excellent sellers on there. We can happily recommend Snakepit Leatherworks as one of our favorites (the toys I love to hate).
