    Rabbit or Tiger

Rabbit or Tiger can you tell us what is going on? Most all of us are having problems navigating this site lately. Long delays between pages loading and/or total freeze ups have become all to normal occurrences the last few days. Are there known problems and are they soon to be corrected?

    Thanks

Is it only on the forums? Please give me as much information as possible. I have seen zero problems or crashes in about a week. Site has been running very fast.

I have been having these problems, certainly, and again just this evening. I clicked to post a reply and just got a whirly hand. Rather than sitting to watch the slow reaction, I wandered off elsewhere. When I came back over an hour later, still whirly finger. Just hadn't worked. Had to refresh & log back in (lost the post). It was then back to being really fast again.

    Lips slip
    Fingers linger
    Heart starts

    Well, that was quick

I too have been having problems, this morning was particularly painful (about 10 hours ago).

Forums: Fun and Games especially, but all were problematic.

Working too much....and unfortunately not online as much as I'd like.

    Hammer Time?

Yea, gotta keep the server away from the liquor cabinet.
    Always getting hammered....sheeesh!

While i'm here can i get ya to change the 'Submit' radio button
    to read 'Post' ?....KIDDING!

But if i click submit, at times i'll wait ?30 seconds and nada...grrrrr!
What has worked for me is to repeat ass often as necessary....
Click 'Stop' then reclick 'Submit'. I think ya sneak up on the
drunken bastard that way. Dunno? But it works for me.

    Good luck, you'll need it...

Keep updating me. So far I haven't been able to catch it when its slow.

I will try tweaking some settings and see if it helps.

Usually I find the forum fast, but on certain situations, when I'm posting, or just going into a thread, it takes forever to load the page.

What seems to work is closing the window, restarting IE, and then going back to the forums from my history.

I haven't had this problem at all... Weird.

I retract that. It hasn't been so bad, but small lags between pages so far. Usually when I refresh the forum homepage it works fine again.

over the last few days...esp my mornings when most of you guys are sleeping it is really bad.
slow to bring up threads, slow when you hit post, then it times out and when you hit refresh you have the page back.
it can take a cpl of minutes for a page to loadand then the forums will be really fast at loading up again.
it is like at certain times of the day the server is struggling

Just a thought but is there any association between these problems and what browser people are using. If people are having rendering problems and slow page loads maybe the site isn't working well with a particular browser. If the software running these forums is relatively old it wouldn't surprise me at all if it doesn't play nice with the new IE7. Personally I use firefox 2.0 on Linux and the only time I have trouble is if the site is completely unaccessible which I always is assume is a problem with the server going offline.

Just my 2 cents, might be nothing to do with it.

Over the past few days, particularly during daylight hours over here in the UK, the board has been almost impossible to post on at times. Particularly the F&G. But often when Ive been PMing it will just hang...until I have to give up and log back in.

    Very frustrating at the mo...

Also having mucho problems with roleplay, try to submit something and it just hangs and hangs...then when I do submit I find ive double posted.

BTW Can we delete our own posts here?

Just want to lend my voice to the fact that i have had the same problems, and im using the latest version of Firefox which seems to run at speed with everything else, even with multiple windows open

just a suggestion to help in the analytical...

I know there is IT software that you can use to monitor page loading times, as well as other info like what kind of browser the visitor uses, as well as screen size, and many other tid bits of info to help manage a site. I don't know what it was called anymore, I just know it's out there.

It is reacting slow when changing pages, posting, and PMing and it is not only doing it in the USA. I know for sure it is doing the same thing in Australia. I use IE7 and have for months. This problem has just recently cropped up so I feel confident in saying it has nothing to do with IE. Even refreshing the page takes for ever at times. I can't explain it any other way than to say it is extremely slow. If not slow then it locks up and you must exit and try to reenter the site.

I found one problem last night that was causing problems for sure. I fixed that.

There may be more to find but let me know how things go now that I at least squashed one bug.

Perhaps members can mention the time when they were experiencing problems, if it's a common phenomenon, the reason for the slow performance may be easier to isolate and correct.

Since about 7am GMT there has been noticeable slow down when it comes to accessing forum boards or trying to post… the board seemed inaccessible from about 8am to 8.30am… and since then every time I can get in seems achingly slow… I have to close the browser and try again because it seems to freeze on me (or run so slow that it appears frozen),

ok..its now 9am GMT and seems to be running normally again!?!
