Servers down ?

It's a few weeks now since I discovered bdsmlibrary, and I'm very happy with it: nice tolerant people.

The last few days I get more and more error messages, sometimes the server you run on, is too busy, otherwise there is a message of a database error. I had these the very first time I found BDSMlibrary and then almost forgot about my discovery. A mail from you gave it a second chance. Curious to see what's going on, I try to take a look when back from work, or back from my fitness training, but the last few days this fails systematically : is this forum suffering from its own success ? Or is Asia killing the server, making it too hot :) ???

What happens ?

My understanding is that there are just too many people wanting to be here, remember hearing mention of over 3 million hits a day. But our admins and techies are working on moving us to a monster server. If I am not right I am sure Rabbit1 will take his cane out to me, and tell you what I should have said.

Rumor has it that there is another push to transfer the site to a bigger server, but it ain't easy.

you are correct it is not easy to move a site this big and complicated ---remember it is just not the forum that has to be moved---the is also the Academy ---Chat ----The Story data base ----and we want to move it without losing data ----so please be patient ----we are trying to coordinate the move with the techs--so all can be done without screwing up the system

The move to the new server is complete---Please bear with us if there are a few tweaks that need to be done ----

Indeed! Even if it meant all the fun Silke and I had when we thought we were the only people here is gone. . .

*giggles* have we been hallucinating, maddie? I always knew the forums were addictive, but had no idea it messed with our minds THAT much...;)

That probably explains the lost posts today. Probably those posts occurred between the last back-up and the move.

I'd suggest, in the future, that once the back-up is made, you make the database read-only and put up an "error message" letting us know...

None-the-less, a nice smooth transition.

A couple of glitches today Rabbit. Getting bounced out of chat... and then can't get into the forum database directly thereafter..

I see the Database Errors are still very much out in force.

Hopefully we can get that cleaned up soon.

see what happens when I try to take my birthday off ---lol no there are still some glitches from the move but by in large the site is faster and more stable ---the software had me locked out of the admin panel yesterday ---I could not do a thing until I contacted the Owner of the site to fix it ---lol

so hang in there as we clean up the minor problems ---as we find them ---

Rabbit, you are all doing a great job with the move. Good luck with fixing those minor problems. As to being locked out of the admin panel, LOL, at least you had to take a break for a little while. But knowing how hard you work, you probably had a million other things to do!

Take your time O great one- the joint is working fine, even the girls up top ^ look better than before!
