You can have formalized acts if you want- protocol- that you can implement all the time or certain times.. such as...
restricted eye contact
kneeling in your presence/ no sitting on furniture (unless w/ permission)
she can speak about herself in the third person as "Your slave".. as in
"Master/ Sir, may Your slave/ girl/ sub/ whatever do _____?"
you can have more stringent speech restrictions, such as she may not speak freely unless she asks first ("Master/ Sir, may i speak freely/ May i ask a question?")

i think the best thing is the element of surprise- knowing the dominant is always in charge, in control (even if just for a weekend or whatever) and the sub never knows what he will do to her...

use a new toy...
tie her in a new position
use chains instead of ropes for the first time
use a new gag
use a hood instead of just a blindfold...

i know you are new, so some of these things may have to come later with more experience, but hopefully they will spark some ideas for you..

And of course, since you are new, i would suggest safewords... until you are totally in tune with each other...reading her body language and understanding her sounds to know when she's had enough and you shouldn't push anymore at that time.
